The Greatest Showman is an original and independent musical-made movie which memorialises the visionary, P.T Barnum, who was recognised and commemorated for finding ‘unique individual’ hoaxes in his sensational creation of the circus, Barnum & Bailey Circus. Conclusion – Personal thoughts and recommendations
I enjoyed this movie. I’m not particularly one for musicals, don’t get me wrong I love me some Heathers, Les Mis, you name it but, I’m no musical buff. That being said, I highly enjoyed the movie. The soundtrack was phenomenal with the actors singing their own parts (Yes, you go Zac Efron, you show Disney), the storyline had a strong plot, it contained strong Left-winged messages of equality and of course Hugh Jackman steals the show.
I would recommend this movie to anyone who was/is considering seeing the film, especially musical buffs and I believe even people who aren’t much for romance or musicals would enjoy the film.
To conclude, a good thing to keep in mind before seeing the film is that audience response to the movie was a vast variation to the critics. Everyone has their opinion on this movie so it would be an intelligent idea to walk in with a diplomatic mindset if you choose to see this film. I also recommend watching on the cinema screen as it gives an extreme emphasis on the show numbers.
If you choose to see it, enjoy! And comment your opinion on the film in the comments or on my in-depth review of the film (warning: review contains spoilers from the film).
